WhatsApp Awards: the awards for your WhatsApp group
Every group has the funny one, the one who types “on my way” from the sofa and the one who disappears for a month and comes back like nothing happened. The WhatsApp Awards prove it with your own chat: every award comes from real messages, with the date and time.
Upload the group chat, pick who you are and the show begins: you guess who wins, open the envelope and the evidence appears. By the end, everyone in the group has an award. Everything is worked out on your phone: the chat is never uploaded anywhere.

Choose the group chat file (the .zip as it is, or the .txt) or watch an example show first. In a few seconds the curtain goes up.
How to export your group chat for the WhatsApp Awards
Choose your device: we’ve highlighted the one you’re using. You can only export from your phone (WhatsApp Web and the desktop app don’t have this option).
- Open the group in WhatsApp.
- Tap the group name at the very top.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap “Export chat”.
- Choose “Attach media” if you want the sticker of the year, or “Without media” if the chat is huge.
- In the share menu, tap “Save to Files” and save it to “On my iPhone”.
- Come back to this page, tap “Choose the chat” and select the .zip.
- Open the group in WhatsApp.
- Tap the three dots ⋮ at the top right, then “More” and “Export chat”.
- Choose “Include media” if you want the sticker of the year, or “Without media” if the chat is huge.
- Save it to Google Drive or your phone’s Files app.
- Come back to this page, tap “Choose the chat” and select the file.
- Export the chat from your phone following the iPhone or Android steps.
- Get it onto your computer: email it to yourself, upload it to Google Drive or send it to your own WhatsApp chat and download it from WhatsApp Web.

Not every group gets the same awards: only the ones with a clear winner appear, and there are never unfair ties. These are the ones that come up most.

Their messages get the most “haha”s and stickers in the next three minutes. With the message that proves it.
🔪 Conversation killer
They write something and the group goes silent for hours. We show you their masterpiece and how long the silence lasted.
⚡ The defibrillator
When the group has been dead for days, they bring it back. And the group answers.

Disappears for weeks and comes back like nothing happened. With the message they came back with.

The show also has the group dictionary (the word each person says more than anyone), the official sticker with its image, the inseparables (the pair who reply to each other most) and the message of the year, the one that got the most laughs, with what was said right after.
How the show works
- Pick who you are. Your award is saved for the end, like at a real awards night.
- Make your guess. For each award the nominees appear and you choose who you think will win.
- Open the envelope. Press and hold the button, the spotlight moves across the nominees and stops on the winner.
- See the evidence. The real message that won them the award, with its date and time.
- Your award and everyone’s. At the end you see yours and everyone’s card, ready to share.
- How many did you get right? The final score tells you how well you know your group.
Is it safe to upload the group chat?
- Everything is worked out in your browser. The file is never uploaded to a server.
- We store nothing: no messages, no names, no awards.
- Not even we can see it. When you close the page, it’s gone.
- The cards you share don’t include messages, just the award and the stat: nobody on Instagram will see what was said in the group.
How to share your award on Instagram
- At the end of the show, open your award or anyone else’s in the group.
- Tap “Share”: a vertical image is created, perfect for stories.
- On your phone, choose Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp. On a computer it downloads.
- Send it to the group. Give it five minutes and everyone will want theirs.

What are the WhatsApp Awards?
An awards night made from your WhatsApp group chat: who’s the funniest, who kills conversations, who always says “on my way”, the group’s official sticker and the message of the year. Every award comes with the real message that proves it.
Is it free?
Yes, it’s completely free and you don’t need to sign up. You just need to export the group chat from WhatsApp.
Is the chat uploaded to a server?
No. The file is analysed in your own browser and never leaves your device. We don’t store messages, names or awards.
Does it work with a chat between two people?
The WhatsApp Awards are for groups of three or more. For a chat with your partner or a friend, use WhatsApp Wrapped. Here it is: WhatsApp Wrapped.
Why don’t I get the sticker of the year?
Because the chat was exported “without media”. Export it again with media (on iPhone, “Attach media”; on Android, “Include media”) and upload the full .zip.
Why doesn’t someone in the group have an award?
Everyone has one. People who hardly ever write get the special mention: the ones who read everything and say nothing.
Does it work for family or work groups?
Yes. It works with any group: friends, family, team, class or housemates. Family groups often get a “Good morning” award.
The awards last a week. The group chat, on paper, lasts much longer.
